Local author and creative writing teacher Felicity Fair Thompson will be at Cowes Library between 10.30am and 2pm signing copies of her book 'The Kid on Slapton Beach' which will be available to buy.

The story is of a 12 year old boy, who's father is missing during wartime, and is one of 3000 people who have to leave the Devon coast as US troops move into the area, planning D-Day rehearsals on the beach there in April 1944. Felicity will also be able to give advice on creative writing and talk about her career involved in documentaries and more, so come along and meet this very interesting lady!

Lego Club for the over 5s will also take place from 10.30am until 12.30pm and will be celebrating its 2nd birthday. We will be giving away lots of prizes. This free popular club is held on the 4th Saturday of every month and children are set a mission to complete until the next time. Children must be accompanies by an adult throughout. The Supporters of Cowes Library Group will be providing cakes and refreshments all day.
