The Gallery at Julia's Tea Room is delighted to host local artist and illustrator Lucia Para's new exhibition - The Secret Garden.

Lucia Para is an Italian artist based on the Isle of Wight. She studied at the Fine Art Academy in Florence, where she learned the traditional techniques of the ancient Masters, and she really enjoyed understanding that once painting was a real craft which started from raw materials.

Lucia has been always passionate about doing creative things using different materials, and with time she developed a strong connection with textiles.Her technique today reflects the weaving of all these pathways.

Lucia loves nature, she is always hunting for beautiful landscapes, and constantly seeks beauty, in small and large scale. England for her is full of tales, treasures, heritage, and she absolutely loves the quirky and wonderful use (so peculiar to British culture) of dressing up everything : walls, floors, lamps, even toilet rolls- with textiles.

Now she is probably out somewhere stitching together some new colourful ideas .

All works are for sale and help support the Julia Margaret Cameron Trust.

Dimbola is open Tue-Sun, 10am-4pm until Mon 28th March from when it is open Mon-Sun, 10am-5pm.

The exhibition continues until Weds 4th May.
