Boost your confidence on two wheels.
Helping to build confidence and get people back in the saddle, the Isle of Wight Council is running free bicycle training and bicycle maintenance courses for adults.
The training is aimed at helping people get to know their bike, carry out basic repairs and build confidence of how to cycle safely to improve health, the environment and to provide an alternative to many short car journeys.
Sessions are running each Saturday until Saturday 19th March.
Basic Bicycle Maintenance is 3hr course and takes place at 9am-12pm
Basic Cycle Training is a 1 hour scourse and takes place at 9-10am and then is repeated at 4-5pm
Intermediate Cycle Training is a two hour course takes place at 10.30-12.30 and is repeated at 1.30-3.30pm
The council is committed to encouraging more cycling on the Isle of Wight. The courses are designed to encourage cyclists who are new to cycling or who perhaps have not cycled for a while to feel more confident and enjoy the cycle paths and trails the Island has to offer either for commuting to work or for leisure.
URGE cycles aims to remove some of the barriers to cycling by offering mobile bike maintenance that is underpinned by an approach that inspires, educates and supports cyclists. The URGE team provide convenient mobile bicycle repairs and services at your home, workplace, school or community spaces, event support, community bicycle days, confidence boosting bicycle maintenance courses for commuters, families and enthusiasts plus corporate cycling services for staff and students.
