A bureaucrat tries to find meaning in his life after discovering he has terminal cancer. Realising he had lost passion and drive, the limited time left determines him not just to live the rest of his life to the full, but to leave something meaningful behind.

Directed by Akira Kurosawa, Ikiru was released in 1952. With Takashi Shimura, Miki Odagiri, Haruo Tanaka, Minoru Chiaki. Ikiru lasts 2 hours 23 minutes and is Certificate PG. English subtitles. 1954's Berlin International Film Festival awarded the film the Special Prize of the Senate of Berlin.
