An installation representing the lives of three engineers – mechanical, electrical and data – using changing technology relevant to those generations; from drawing and etching through electronics to a Virtual Reality experience.
Biographical information spanning almost one hundred years, selected to illustrate both the differences and links between a Grandfather, Father and Son. The Son’s data is accessible via a Virtual Reality headset, highlighting how the lives of this latest generation are ‘in the ether’.
(Note that this is an immersive experience not a 360 video, a visitor wearing the Virtual Reality headset is able, if they wish, move around within the Virtual environment.)
