Elephant hawk by k. marston

Viewing and identifying moths caught in a moth trap overnight at The Priory. No previous knowledge required.

Moths are more important than many of us realise. They are even more efficient pollinators than bees and are vital food sources for other animals. They can be very beautiful or striking, with a huge variety of colours, patterns and sizes, from the large hawk moths to tiny micromoths.

Come to the beautiful Carisbrooke Priory gardens to see which moths have been collected in their overnight moth trap (which doesn't harm the moths at all!) and learn more about these incredible animals and how to identify them.

Children under the age of 16 to be accompanied by a responsible adult.

No booking required.

Address is The Priory, 39 Whitcombe Road, Newport PO30 1YS

Park in The Priory car park or the public car park opposite The Priory entrance. The event will be held in the gardens at the rear of The Priory. Access to the gardens will be via the side gate on the left side of the building.

Creation Matters! is a Christian-based climate action and biodiversity promoting group on the Isle of Wight.
