A musical treat is in store at the Apollo shortly. If you enjoy the blues, come along on 31 October when three of the best-known bands on the Island will play a charity gig, ‘Blues at the Apollo’.
Laurie McVay and his High Rollers, Damien Paul’s Blues Band and the five-piece Nick Cane Band will be playing an evening of blues in aid of the YMCA following the recent tragic death of Gary Plumley’s son Tom, who worked for the charity.
Gary has of course been known to blues and soul aficionados for many years, both on the Island and internationally, for his unique sax sound; Laurie McVay and Damien Paul and their bands have been a part of the Island blues & soul scene for many years and the Nick Cane Band is well known across the Island for a lineup of highly regarded musicians including Nick himself, Gary Plumley on sax and Stuart Woodley on bass.
Doors open at 6.45 for a 7.30 start; tickets for the gig are £10, available on the door, but be warned – this may well be a sell-out!
