CHRISTINA TOURIN – Christina, author of the respected and comprehensive book, Harp Therapy Manual – a Cradle of Sound, is a second generation harpist, who began playing harp at the age of four. She received Music and education degrees from the University of Vermont and also studied harp at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and at McGill University in Montreal. She received her Music Therapy degree from Arizona State University. As an recording artist with 15 recordings distributed Internationally, she has performed extensively.

With shimmering, mystical chords and transcendent harmonies, her harp playing has been described as ‘liquid gold’. She is an active workshop organizer and has been instrumental in the revival of the folk harp since the early 1970s. In 1982 she founded the Scottish Harp Society of America. Seventeen years playing at the Trapp Family Lodge – the home of Sound of Music, 30 years of private (Steiner Schools) and public school teaching, creator of the Rainbow of Sound® program and the World Harp Orchestra®, healing with music and sound vibrations in hospitals and hospices, traveling, composing, teaching, and writing books round out her full life. She is founder and director of the International Harp Therapy Program, founded in 1994 which has now expanded to the U.K. Canada, Europe, Brazil, Australia and Asia and is partially on-line.

She teaches the Youth in the AYUDH program which is inspired by the world leading humanitarian and “Hugging Saint”, AMMA.
