To celebrate Heritage Open Days Newport Roman Villa will be open FREE of charge on Saturday 13th September (10.30am – 4pm).

Newport Roman Villa was discovered in 1926 and is a fine example of a third century farmhouse. The Villa has a well preserved bath suite there is also a museum display, herb garden and education room.

There are ‘hands on’ activities for all ages, come and put a pot back together or make a mosaic. Come and find out more about clothes in Roman Britain. There will be a demonstration of weaving techniques and staff will be on hand to tell you about the site.

For families there will be craft activities, come and make a Roman chariot to take home and have a go at a treasure hunt.
