THE RETURN

Last year The Rainbreakers blew us away...now they are back

First formed in late 2012, The Rainbreakers fuse a range of dynamic elements and exemplify a diverse and ever-growing musical palette. Hailing from the small town of Shrewsbury, the band has gigged relentlessly right from the start to not only better themselves as musicians but to also build an honest following around their hometown. Although The Rainbreakers indicate a fascination of sound and texture from an array of different styles, their music clearly reflects a reverence to an era way before their time, yet signifies a step forward in combining the old with the new. The Rainbreakers craft a stripped down approach and bring a refreshingly simplistic outlook to making music, smearing the lines between rock, pop, blues and soul. The songs can shift between gritty to delicate in an instant while the melodic and pop-like hooks combined with the raw and garage-esque backdrop forge an inspiring combination. Ultimately the band’s outlook is to produce authenticity, may that be lyrically or sonically, to create a sound that truly represents themselves as well as their experiences. To date, The Rainbreakers have played over 200 shows since their formation. Ranging from small pubs in their local area to established club venues in London, the four piece have performed extensively across the country to maintain a consistent momentum. In early 2013 the band were able to gain experience playing alongside emerging bands such as Catfish and the Bottlemen and Bluebottle Veins in reputable venues such as Central Station in Wrexham and The Compass in Chester. Eager to go further afield, The Rainbreakers travelled to the Isle of Wight in August 2013, to support the release of their debut self-titled EP. During their time on the island the band performed a string of dates in pub venues and were also featured on local radio station, Wight Party Radio. In keeping with online promotion, the band’s music has also been heavily shared on BBC Radio Shropshire. After playing their debut EP on numerous occasions, The Rainbreakers were also invited to the BBC Studios, where they performed a live session showcasing newly written material. Most recently the band have played their biggest gigs to date including Rock and Bowl festival in Market Drayton, where they played alongside local talent such as Blues Boy Dan and Reign of Kings to name a few. Additionally, after winning the final round of auditions, The Rainbreakers were also the judges choice to perform at Chester Rocks Festival, where they had earned their place on the main stage to provide support slots for established acts such as Razorlight, The Feeling and the Hoosiers. The Rainbreakers philosophy has always been to perform anywhere at any time they can, and their intentions for the future are no exception. Alongside the release of their newly recorded single, Gone, the band aim to perform extensively across the country in order to promote their material and to continue building towards a strong and honest following.
