Halloween is coming to Tapnell Farm Park and we’ll be celebrating the spookiest time of year with a whole host of treats for your little monsters.

On Sunday 23rd October, The IOW Bat Hospital will be taking up residence in the Farm Park, showing their rescued bats between 10am and 3pm. Visitors can learn all about these little creatures with a big reputation, as well as hearing all about the excellent work of the local Bat Hospital.

On Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 26th, famous Island ghost hunter Marc Tuckey will be telling family friendly ghost stories in the ambient surroundings of the Play Barn between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. Marc will bring classic, spooky tales to life with sat down story-telling, guaranteed to have children of all ages (and adults) enthralled.

On Sunday 30th, The Creation Station will be leading arts and crafts sessions, perfect for 2 to 11 year olds. For a small fee, children can get crafty and take home their spook-tacular creations. Sessions begin at 10am and 1pm, please note there are limited places and so booking is advised.

Tapnell will be running the ultimate fancy dress competition on 29th and 30th October as all of our little visitors are encouraged to don their most impressive Halloween costumes and parade around the Farm Park. Parents can upload photos of their little ones using #TinyTapnellTerrors. With a special Meerkat Encounter prize for the winner; Tapnell’s online followers are asked to vote for their favourite.

Our fiendish Face Painter will be taking up residence in the Play Barn on the 27th and 28th, ready to transform visitors (big and small) into ghosts, witches, skeletons and any other scary beasts that take their fancy. Please note a small charge applies.

However, the Halloween fun isn’t just for children. On Thursday 27th, Marc Tuckey returns with a night-time ghost walk for those feeling brave this Halloween. With a spooky welcome cocktail and candle lit supper served in The Cow Co. Restaurant, Marc will lead a guided tour of Tapnell’s spooky surroundings after hours, including a stop off at The Haunted Herd. Tickets on sale now.
