Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th May 2016, 10am – 4pm. Free entry, all welcome.

The artists at Jubilee Stores Studios are delighted to invite you to their May Showcase Weekend, which will take place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of May. They will be opening the doors to their studios to display recent works and to demonstrate and discuss what they are currently working on to give a glimpse of their making processes.

Jubilee Stores Studios is an artist studios and participatory arts complex, owned and run by Quay Arts. It is located just along the river from Quay Arts and houses 7 artist studios and hosts a range of courses and workshops.

There are 7 artist studios: Studio 1 Rebecca Robinson: Mixed Media, Studio 2 Lis Toft: Porcelain, Studio 3 Kae Carlstedt-Duke: Printer & Bookbinder, Studio 4 Melanie Swan: Mixed Media, Studio 5 Howard Hardiman: Visual Art, Studio 6 Nina Bulley: Jewellery, Studio 7 Ian Whitmore: Visual Art.

At the Showcase Weekend, there will be displays of recent work, demonstrations, and details of forthcoming Summer School courses at Jubilee Stores and Quay Arts, as well as mentoring and tuition services they can offer to support people in their own artistic development.

Visitors will gain a fascinating insight into the work of a professional artist, and be able to buy artwork direct from the maker. There are painters, illustrators, printmakers, digital artists, mixed media artists, jewellers and ceramicists at the studios, so do come and meet them and see the fascinating resources at Jubilee Stores Studios.

Jubilee Stores Studios provides emerging artists and makers a base from which they can develop and grow their artistic practice, whilst also providing the Island with a unique cultural dynamic through developing the creative industries. Resident artists create work in a wide range of media, from printmaking to digital media, jewellery to visual arts and crafts.

Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of May 2016, 10am-4pm. Free, all welcome.
